Was lucky to be able to eat inside without the lineup. Food is delicious, service is attentive. I was surprised by the price of the dishes, seems a lot more reasonable than anywhere else. All the dishes are full of flavour and light. The place is super cramped though, I was amazed by how the servers were able to move around tight places to serve dishes. Have been to there several times over the years and it never disappoints. The small space is a real problem but everything else is over expectations. Order to take out would be the best

Simply one of the best restaurants in Montreal and perhaps in all of Canada. The attention and passions put into each dish can be not only tasted, but felt. The operation of the staff is like a moving painting behind the counter- I strongly recommend sitting at the bar to witness it. There is something simply special within these walls. Always worth the wait and be adventurous with your order! On this visit my favourites were the smoked eel wraps and the vegetable croquettes.

After 6 years, it’s still Kazu that tastes the best for its price range. The atmosphere suits seasoned foodies. I order some appetizers and mains. The dishes come quickly and are served one after another, very suitable for two people to share. Price-wise, with tax and tip, it came to $160 for two people, and even for two people who worked out, it was a bit too much food. We ordered: • Fried green beans ($12) – generous portion and delicious. • Sashimi platter ($28) – tasty, but a bit small; just enough to get a taste. • Lamb chops ($27) – very good, portion was on the smaller side. • Pork shoulder ($27) – tasty and very large portion, but the center part of the meat was a bit dry. • Squid salad ($16) – delicious, moderate portion. • Beef heart ($12) – tasty, portion slightly small. Overall, it was a very satisfying experience. The flavors were complex and high-end. The pace was fast, and the staff were warm, friendly, and eager to recommend dishes and drinks. At the bar there are hooks for bags under the table which is super convenient. We arrived at 5pm and didn’t have to wait, but by the time we left at 6pm, a long line had already formed.

Worth the hype! Super quick service and everything on the menu is delicious, honestly. Toto sashimi, pork neck, beef ribs, chicken dumplings and lamb chops were top notch!

This is the most authentic Japanese style restaurant if you will. When K rate 5 start atmosphere don't be misled as if it is luxury, it is authentic and accessible. It is just warm and friendly and a memorable experience? Many places can't hit the food quality and the flavor! Staff are really helpful despite being overly busy! You will have to stay in a lonf line to get there, but it is worth it! There is a reason for that for many years!

Best restaurant in Montreal, we travel to Montreal at least twice a year to eat here! Get there before opening to avoid lineups, they don’t take reservations. Highly recommend eating any of the raw stuff, tempura green beans are crack, the katsu curry was probably the best katsu I’ve ever had. Never had a bad meal here.only thing I wouldn’t recommend is the tuna scrape as it’s quite pricey for what you get. Wouldn’t recommend for a group of more than 4 as it would be super tight, it’s a small place.

Authentic Japanese vibe. Food is excellent and I went to Japan 🇯🇵! They have a nice menu with a menu of the day written on paper. They didn’t have two items that we wanted but other than that it was perfect. Staff is efficient and nice. My new favourite spot in Mtl.
